Failed Dayton robbery attempt with toy gun leaves juveniles behind bars
Several minors were arrested Wednesday in Dayton after Lyon County deputies responded to a 911 report describing an attempted burglary.
According to deputies, multiple juveniles were in the area of Mark Twain Park in Dayton when another group of juveniles began following them.
The victims told 911 the group was in possession of a handgun and were demanding money.
Deputies responded and a short time later located three juveniles matching the description. They were arrested and charged with robbery.
A plastic, toy handgun was recovered from one suspect, which deputies say had been altered to look like a real handgun.
The victims involved were not harmed, and were later released to their parents.
Since the suspects are all minors, their identities will not be disclosed to the public.
