Carson City emergency crews called to Highway 50 west for rollover down embankment
Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies, Nevada Highway Patrol and Tahoe Douglas Fire were called Tuesday night to a rollover accident down an embankment at Highway 50 West/Spooner, a mile east of the Carson City-Douglas County line.
The call came into dispatch shortly before 8 p.m. of a vehicle that went over an embankment with a female occupant who was injured and trapped inside the vehicle that required extrication.
A Care Flight air ambulance has been ordered. The patient will be taken by ground transport to the Park and Ride near the junction of Highways 50 and 395 and flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Both east and westbound lanes of Highway 50/Spooner will be closed temporarily near the Park and Ride to allow for Care Flight to land.
We will update as more information becomes available.
