Married Dayton Couple identified as two deceased victims in fatal Carson City crash

A married couple from Dayton was identified as the two deceased victims in the crash in Carson City which resulted in multiple injuries according to the Washoe County Medical Examiner.

70-year-old Tana Powell was pronounced dead on the scene.

Her husband Don Powell, 74, was pronounced dead after arriving at Renown Regional Medical Center by CareFlight.

Multiple helicopters and ambulances were called to the scene due to the extensive injuries suffered by victims of the crash.

The driver of the truck that caused the crash after allegedly pulling a large boat far over the capacity of the truck’s capabilities was jailed with multiple charges related to the crash.

A band of Mule deer visited the front entrance to the Carson City Sheriff's Office Saturday morning, foraging on shrubs and grasses in the area.

A single file line of people dressed in black silently made its way from the State Capitol grounds north along Carson Street Saturday morning to raise awareness of human trafficking in Nevada, nationwide and around the world.

The Carson City Fire Department is on scene of a reported brush fire west of Saliman Road off Little Lane.

According to firefighters at the scene, the flames are burning an area about 25-by-30 feet in size. No structures are threatened and there is a slow rate of spread.
