Carson City emergency crews called to vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at Long and North Carson
UPDATE 8:56PM: The 60-year-old male pedestrian in Tuesday evening's accident was flown to Renown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to CCSO. The driver of the vehicle that struck him was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected. NHP is investigating a separate incident, a hit and run crash, in which a vehicle struck a parked CCSO patrol vehicle and then fled the scene. The parked patrol vehicle was on the scene of the pedestrian crash.

UPDATE 7:57PM: North Carson Street is now open for traffic.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Tuesday evening to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the southbound lane near the intersection of Long and North Carson Street.
A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered. The crash was reported at around 5:15 p.m. The condition of the injured pedestrian is unknown at this time.
Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area and to find alternative routes. Traffic has been shut down at the intersection. The Nevada Highway Patrol has been called to assist.
Meanwhile, a CCSO patrol vehicle, parked in the area of North Carson and Adaline street while responding to the crash, was apparently struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a silver Subaru. No injuries were reported.
