Carson City Rotarians to host holiday food drive Saturday across from Brewery Arts Center
Help feed your neighbors in need this year by donating to the Rotary Club of Carson City Food Drive. The event takes place Saturday Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 400 W. King Street in Carson City.
Rotarians will have a tent set up at that location which is directly across from the Brewery Arts Center. Club members will be collecting food for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday as well as food for pets.
“Carson Rotarians are eager to assist those in our community who otherwise would not have a Thanksgiving meal.” Said Rotary President Richard Perry. “This year we are partnering with two local organizations who help feed both people and pets, F.I.S.H and Feeding Pets of the Homeless.”
Those donating can drive up and a club member will take the donations right from the car. Items requested include: Turkeys, Chicken Broth, Green Beans, Corn, Cranberry Sauce, Yams, Stuffing, Gravy, and Instant or Fresh Potatoes. Rotarians are also asking for Dog food, Cat food, and Cat Litter.
“We have learned how important pets are to families as well as homeless individuals”, Perry said. “We want to make sure they are cared for as well.”
Checks or cash will also gladly accepted.
