Carson City Fire Department called to Sherman Lane structure fire
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Sunday morning to a structure fire in the 3600 block of Sherman Lane.
The fire was reported before 6 a.m. The Carson City Sheriff's Office is blocking roadways to allow access for firefighters.
According to Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon, the fire happened in a single story home and caused significant damage. The fire was under control as of 6:25 a.m. No other properties were damaged.
One resident of the home is on scene and is OK and said no one else was inside. CCFD has not yet been able to get into the residence to verify due to structural compromise, said Chief Slamon. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
