When is the REAL Nevada Day? That answer, and the Parade Day weather forecast
Happy Nevada Day readers! Or is it?
Well, not technically. And neither is tomorrow! Nevada Day is actually on Oct. 31, the official day that Nevada became a state all the way back in 1864.
However, having a Nevada Day parade celebration like we have now on a Tuesday or Thursday would probably cause some issues. So, parade day has been scheduled on the last weekend in October for decades, which sometimes falls on its true Halloween birthday by coincidence.
But everyone should get to celebrate Nevada Day in style, the powers that be once probably said, which is why state and city workers are given the Friday before the parade off as well!
So, in a sense, we get three Nevada Days, which is fitting for the greatest state in the union.
Now let’s check out the parade day weather forecast.
It will be a chilly 8 a.m. in the mid forties when you should start fighting the crowds to procure yourself a spot. Perfect time for hot cocoa, coffee, and if you imbibe, hot toddies.
At parade start at 10 a.m. you’ll be a bit warmer thanks to your hot beverages along with a ten+ degree increase temperature, hitting just around 46 degrees.
The temperature will increase to the low 60s throughout the parade, but some cloud cover might be moving in, which is why parade day is a day for layering!
A cloudy day will take up the rest of the afternoon and evening, but with no rain in the forecast, you won’t have to worry about galoshes! You should, however, pack some sunscreen, as parade day morning will be nice and sunny!
Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the official Nevada Day magazine and program that will be available throughout the day at multiple locations.
