The Nevada Day Powwow will return Friday through Sunday, Oct. 27-29, at the Robert Crowell Multi-Purpose Athletic Center, 1860 Russell Way in Carson City.

Evergreen Gene’s to donate sale proceeds Friday to Carson City Meals on Wheels
On Friday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., shop at Evergreen Gene’s Nursery & Garden, Gifts & Toys located at 3060 US 50 E. in Carson City. Gene Munnings, owner of Evergreen Gene’s, is generously donating all proceeds from the sales for the entire day to Meals on Wheels, Carson City.
Carson City Historical Society East Side Tour happening Friday
The Carson City Historical Society invites locals and visitors to join Bernie Allen and Donna McLaren on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. as Mr. Allen guides you on a free, two-mile, Nevada Day walking tour of the historical east side of Carson City.

Sierra Academy of Style is hosting a safe trick or treat event located at our main campus at 1851 S Roop St no. 100 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dress up the kids and come down for some awesome fun. We'll have face painting and multiple doors to knock on which have their own theme.
Carson High Class of 1973 to host 50 year reunion Oct. 27
Carson High School Class of 1973 will be having a 50th class reunion celebration on Friday, October 27th (day before the Nevada Day parade). This will be an informal gathering at the Brewery Arts Center from 3:00-7:00 pm and all Carson High classes are welcome.
Kids & Paws Trick Or Treating at Midtown Marketplace
Dress up the kids and pups and come enjoy a fun and free event for the community, Tick Or Treating at MidTown Marketplace on Friday Oct. 27th from 3pm-7pm. We will have over 30 indoor vendor booths that are decorated for Halloween and each one will be passing out candy for the kiddos and there will also be goodie bags for the pups! MidTown Marketplace is located at 104 Corbett St.in Carson City.

Haunted Hills, Mills and Depots on the Haunted Comstock is back for their 2023 annual event
Halloween Weekend Northern Nevada Ghost Hunters presents their 2023 Haunted Hills, Mills, & Depots. The event will take place Friday night, Oct. 27 at 6 pm at the historic Gold Hill Depot where participants will have the opportunity to spend time getting to know NNGH and our special guests: Haunted Pursuit, The N.E.R.D.S. , Father David Deerfeeder, Harvey Althaus, and The Thin Veil investigators featuring Nevada author Sandie LaNae.

The White House, Carson City’s newest cocktail bar, is a time capsule of Nevada history, and several years in the making. The White House itself is a historic Victorian home located at the corner of Stewart and E. Telegraph streets, and was built in 1898.
Nevada Builders Foundation hosts Nevada Day breakfast buffet with Metcalf Builders
The Nevada Builders Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Nevada Builders Alliance, is hosting its annual Nevada Day breakfast buffet with support from Metcalf. Dubbed ‘Nevada Day the Metcalf Way,’ the breakfast will be held at Red’s Old 395 Grill in Carson City on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Carson City Historical Society hosts open house at Foreman-Roberts House Museum and Carriage House
After the Nevada Day Parade, the Carson City Historical Society invites the public to attend an Open House at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum and the Carriage House, 1207 North Carson St., Carson City, following the Nevada Day Parade. The Open House will start around 2 p.m., at the conclusion of the parade, and will last until 5 p.m. Visitors should first report to the Carriage House, the yellow building with the double doors just east of the Foreman-Roberts House Museum. Some parking is available on Corbett and Rice Streets. The event is free to the public.

I-580 to briefly close again Sunday in northern Carson City for overhead utility work
NV Energy and the Nevada Department of Transportation are announcing brief closures of Interstate 580 between northern Carson City and Washoe Valley during the morning of Sunday, Oct. 29. A similar closure happened on Sunday, Oct. 22.
The closures are between 6:30 a.m to 11 a.m. in both directions of I-580 periodically for up to 20 minutes between Arrowhead Drive in northern Carson City and Eastlake Boulevard exit 10 in Washoe Valley.

Winter coat and sweatshirt drive underway for Carson City students in need through Nov. 17
As the winter season approaches, Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento Students in Transition program is in need of new youth coats (boys & girls – all sizes) and new teen/junior sweatshirts and jackets (all sizes) for the winter season. The community-driven initiative aims at ensuring all students have access to warm clothing during the cold months.
