Carson City weather: Mostly sunny and dry heading into Nevada Day weekend and Halloween
Though temperatures dropped Wednesday with a weak system sweeping the region, near average temperatures return for the rest of the week into Nevada Day weekend and Halloween with mostly sunny skies and mild, dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast Thursday into the weekend is looking pleasant, with light easterly winds for Thursday into Friday, with little to no breezes by Saturday and Sunday, NWS forecasters said.
Along with the lack of winds there will be near zero chances for precipitation for the Nevada Day weekend and likely into Halloween as well, according to the weather service. Daytime highs Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Carson City will be in the low to mid-60s with nighttime in the low to mid-30s.
After Halloween there may be a shift Tuesday into Wednesday of next week as forecast models highlight a trough dropping into the Pacific Northwest, according to the weather service.
The majority of the model ensembles are on board with this trough dipping into the Sierra and western Nevada, although there are some variances in the exact depth and location, according to the weather service. Models are also trending toward the potential for rain/snow chances, especially by Wednesday into the rest of next week.
Weather models indicate a wetter trend for the region so forecasters say to plan on colder conditions from next Tuesday onward and the potential for some precipitation to return to the region.
