Carson City sheriff's deputies make arrests for warrants, destruction of property
A woman was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of misdemeanor destruction of property, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
The incident happened at around 12:50 p.m. at the Smith's grocery store on East William Street. According to the report, deputies spoke with two store managers who stated they observed the woman speaking to herself in the store. The managers asked the woman if she was OK.
The woman allegedly grabbed a pumpkin and smashed it to the ground, and then threw a pie on the ground and a package of popsicles at a flower display, breaking six of them.
A Smith's manager stated they wanted to pursue charges for destruction of property. The woman was located near the grocery store and placed into custody for suspicion of destruction of property, the report states. Bail: $637.
In other arrests:
— a 23-year-old Carson City woman, who was currently in custody at Carson City Jail, was booked Wednesday for an outstanding misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Storey County. Bail: $1,140.
— A 40-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued Sept. 19, 2023 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
