Carson City Fire Department called to fire at Carson City landfill
UPDATE 6:12AM: The fire at the landfill is extinguished.

Carson City Fire Department was called Sunday evening to a fire burning again at the landfill off of Flint Drive.
The fire is putting up light smoke, according to first responders on scene. The fire was called into dispatch at around 6:25 p.m. No structures are threatened. The fire is around 200 feet by 200 feet in size.
A number of fires have happened at the landfill this year, including a fire in July that lasted for around five days. The area that the fire burned in contained power poles, large trees, and heavy timber construction materials.
Fires at the landfill are nothing new. Flammable material such as batteries have been the culprit in some of the fires, which have been ongoing for several years.
We will update as information becomes available.
