Carson City School Board to review proposals in superintendent search, discuss policy changes and more
The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place Tuesday Sept. 28 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert "Bob" Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.
Items up for discussion at the school board include a restorative discipline plan, policy changes and the search for a new superintendent.
— A presentation and possible adoption of a district-wide restorative discipline plan for the 2021-2022 school year will be held.

— A discussion on proposed changes to CCSD Policy 420, “Working Periods” which is specific to the work breaks and meal periods for classified staff will be held on first reading for discussion only.

— A discussion and possible action will be held to review and select a proposal from three third-party consultants to assist in the process of hiring a new superintendent for the CCSD. Proposals have been submitted by GR Recruiting, McPherson and Jacobson LLC, and Nevada Association of School Boards. The fiscal impact of selecting a proposal shall not exceed $19,050.

— Monday, Oct. 18: Early release day for all students; classes dismiss at the following times:
- Pre-K Classes – 12:15 p.m.
- Pioneer Academy – 12:50 p.m.
- Carson High School – 1:00 p.m.
- Middle Schools – 1:20 p.m.
- Elementary Schools – 2:00 p.m.
