Volunteers sought for day of service at Carson City's Lone Mountain Cemetery
Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office, will be hosting a volunteer clean-up and day of service at Lone Mountain Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, from 9 a.m. to noon.
This day of service is part of Mayor Bagwell’s Move with the Mayor initiative. Move with the Mayor is a national campaign developed by the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention to encourage people to live active and healthy lifestyles.
The city is seeking service organizations, families, and individuals to participate in a volunteer clean-up of the historic Lone Mountain Cemetery. Volunteers will focus on weed removal, clean-up, painting, and beautification. Physical demands include bending, kneeling, lifting, and utilizing traditional hand tools.
The cemetery is located at 1044 Beverly Dr, Carson City.
The city will provide all the necessary tools and equipment. Dress for the weather, wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, and bring water bottles. Additional water will be provided, but limited.
Please note: Pets, other than service animals, are not permitted at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
