Carson City arrests: Woman jailed for allegedly dumping trash on road, refusing to pick it up

A 47-year-old female transient was arrested early Wednesday in the 100 block of East Telegraph Street for two counts misdemeanor littering after allegedly dumping trash from cans into the road and then refusing to pick up the litter, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report said.
According to the arrest report, the woman was seen near a bar at around 4:30 a.m. pushing trash cans into the street, causing a large amount of trash to spill across the road. A Carson City sheriff's deputy attempted to stop the woman after a witness confirmed what they saw the woman do.
The deputy asked the woman to stop several times before she complied. The officer asked why she pushed the trash cans over. The woman said she was mad about an incident that happened earlier that night after she had been pushed at the bar, the arrest report states.
While the woman was talking to the deputy, she flicked a lit cigarette on the ground to discard it. The officer informed the woman that what she did was littering. The woman said it was not littering where she came from, the report states.
The officer asked the woman to pick up the trash she spilled into the roadway and she would be free to go. The woman refused. The witness who saw her push the trash cans over advised they were willing to sign a citizen's arrest form. Bail: $1,137.
In other arrests:
— A 36-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday in the 5000 block of Morgan Mill Road for misdemeanor suspicion of probation violation.
According to the arrest report, the woman was in possession of a hypodermic needle and other drug paraphernalia, a violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions. Bail: $3,000.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 1:04 a.m. in the area of 20 College Parkway for a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation after being out after curfew, a DAS condition, and having a tail lamp violation. Bail: $3,072.
— A 28-year-old Carson City woman was booked Wednesday into Carson City Jail for a gross misdemeanor warrant issued out of Douglas County District Court. Bail: $2,500.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Thursday in the area of South Carson and Moses streets for a misdemeanor warrant from Tahoe Justice Court issued April 2, 2019. Bail: $900.
— A 53-year-old Sparks man was arrested Wednesday, 9 a.m. in the 4100 block of South Carson Street for a misdemeanor warrant issued July 15, 2019 out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $100.
