Carson, Douglas homecoming games canceled due to smoke
Carson High School and Douglas High School have canceled their homecoming football games due to the heavy smoke currently blanketing the region.
Carson High hopes to play Reed High School Monday as a make-up game, air quality permitting.
Douglas High has discussed rescheduling their game for Monday as well against Galena.
However, homecoming court crowning will continue as planned; Douglas on Friday, and Carson on Saturday during the home coming dance.
The current AQI as of Friday night for Carson City is at 233, within the Very Unhealthy level.
Douglas’s AQI is much higher at 347, within the Hazardous level.
