Two who fled Douglas County traffic stop arrested by Carson City sheriff's deputies

Two men were arrested late Monday after having fled from a traffic stop in Douglas County, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

Ian Jacob Reeder, 26, of Reno, was arrested in the area of South Carson and Sonoma Street at 11:57 p.m. He was booked for suspicion of felony possession of forged instruments, a parole and probation violation, possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 29-year-old Indian Hills man was also arrested for suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the booking report, Carson City dispatch was advised of a Silver Saturn that fled from Douglas County deputies during a traffic stop. CCSO was also advised that one of the original two subjects ran on foot and the other took off with the vehicle.

At approximately 11:26 p.m. a Carson City deputy located the suspect vehicle at Clearview and South Carson Street. The CCSO deputy conducted a high risk traffic stop on the vehicle.

The deputy called out to the driver, later identified as Ian Jacob Reeder. He was handcuffed and taken to a patrol vehicle. Reeder advised that he had narcotics on his person. The deputy removed a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine. The officer ran a dispatch check on the man and learned he was on parole and probation, the arrest report states.

Deputies also called out to the passenger, who was identified and handcuffed. Douglas County Sheriff's Office was notified of the traffic stop and that two suspects were detained. A DCSO sergeant arrived and positively identified Reeder who took control of the vehicle while he was on a traffic stop, the report states.

During vehicle inventory, deputies located a meth pipe in the glove compartment, and a black bag that contained multiple house and vehicle keys, as well as a book of checks that was found near the driver's seat that didn't belong to Reeder. Both men were arrested. There was a "no bail" hold for Reeder due to the parole and probation violation. Bail amount listed for the other alleged offenses: $16,137. Bail for the 29-year-old Indian Hills man: $3,637.

In other arrests:
— Two Carson City jail inmates were booked Tuesday for felony suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon by an incarcerated person and misdemeanor destruction of property, according to a sheriff's office booking report.

Bobby Camp, 61, and Larry Peasnall, 37, were booked for the alleged crimes following an investigation by Carson City Sheriff's Office jail deputies.

According to the booking report, jail deputies were alerted to a possible weapon in a male general cell. The inmates in the cell were instructed out of the cell and handcuffed.

Deputies searched the room by the toilet and observed an object wrapped in a rag at the bottom of the bowl. The object was consistent with what was believed to be a "shank" weapon, the report states. Deputies continued to search and found broken pieces of tile, metal bridge from a mask, a metal cap from a drain snake and two pieces of braided rope made from a ripped bed sheet. The contraband was removed and photographed.

Deputies interviewed both men separately. Suspect Camp was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak. He was informed of what was found in the cell. Camp said he had no recollection of metal objects being in the cell. He was asked if the objects belonged to suspect Peasnall. Suspect Camp said he did not think they belonged to him and that a lot of other inmates would come into their cell during the day, the report states.

Deputies interviewed Peasnall. He was read his rights and did not wish to speak. Both men were booked for suspicion of a dangerous weapon by an incarcerated person for the shank, and for destruction of property for the ripped sheets and broke tile pieces. Bail: $15,637 each.

— A Silver City, Nev. man was arrested for a failure to appear warrant, alleging indecent exposure, a gross misdemeanor. Bail: $15,000.

— A 33-year-old man, Jared Hall, was arrested Sept. 14, for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and parole violation. No bail hold in lieu of a hearing for parole violation.

A widespread power outage Saturday evening has affected much of Douglas County, including Minden, Gardnerville and areas of the south county and Kingsbury. NV Energy reports 14,034 customers were without power as of around 9 p.m.

A large fire has been reported and spotted on the wildland fire cameras in Lyon County as of Friday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m. the smoke plume was first reported near Speedway and 95A in Lyon County.
