Carson City Fire Department called to brush fire near Center Drive and Gibson Avenue
UPDATE 1:50PM: The fire, which appears to be on Washoe Tribal land, was around a quarter acre in size, said Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Mason. Growth control was stopped within five minutes of arrival, he said.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Monday afternoon to a brush fire in the area of Center Drive and Gibson Avenue in southeast Carson City.
The fire appears to be on Washoe Tribal land, and was reported just after 1 p.m. Multiple fire crews are responding. The fire is in a field near the tribal community center. The size is unknown at this time and it is unknown if structures are threatened.
Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies are blocking traffic in the area of the fire to allow fire trucks in.
