Minden Mill Distilling holds grand opening for community Saturday
Minden Mill Distilling, formerly the Bently Distillery, held a grand opening for the community Saturday.
The new owners, Foley Family Wines of Sonoma, Calif. announced the purchase of the distillery back in May.
The distillery resides within the historic Minden Flour Mill, which Christopher and Camille Bently purchased and rehabilitated into the Bently Heritage Distillery, first opening in Feb. 2019.
Unfortunately, Bently would shutter the property three years later in March 2022, alongside the historic Bently ranch.
Now, the Foley Family has taken ownership of the property, but it’s not their first foray into Nevada acquisitions. Founder Bill Foley also purchased the Vegas Golden Knights, the Henderson Silver Knights, the Vegas Knight Hawks, the City National Arena, the Lifeguard Arena, the Dollar Loan Center, and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
On Saturday, the gates were opened to the community with live music, food trucks, free champagne, multiple bars, and more.
Foley Family Wines President Shawn Schiffer attended the opening.
“We have received a warm welcome, and we are very proud to be part of the community,” Schiffer said.
He also offered a special thanks to the 18 “legacy” employees who stayed on between the conversion from Bently to Foley.
“They weathered (the transition) with grace, and kept the facility in pristine condition,” Schiffer said. “All that hard work is now going to pay off.”
The distillery will be open to the public beginning tomorrow, Sunday Sept. 10.
Operating hours are Thursday through Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m.
A website with information will be coming soon.
