Carson City arrests: Deputies arrest two in separate domestic battery incidents
A 40-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Deputies were dispatched to a Northgate Lane residence at 9:34 a.m. for a domestic battery report. Deputies spoke with the reporting party (RP) who stated she heard parents arguing inside their bedroom and observed her father slam her mother into a wall next to the bathroom of the residence.
She then observed the man raise his hands toward her mother as if he was going to hit her, however he did not strike her. The RP stated that her father began screaming at her, telling her to leave the room. She said that her father shoved her and her brother out of the room and shut the door. The daughter stated she contacted law enforcement.
Deputies spoke with the suspect, who stated he and his wife were arguing because he was currently out of a job. He stated while they were arguing he began smoking a cigarette in the bedroom. He stated his wife became upset and asked him to leave the room because he was smoking. He stated he and his wife began pushing and shoving each other. He was asked if he had punched or slapped his wife. The man stated "no."
Deputies interviewed the victim who corroborated her husband's story. She stated they were pushing and shoving each other. The deputy met with the reporting party again and asked who the aggressor was during the incident. The RP stated her father because he pushed her mother as she was trying to leave, the report states.
Based on the information and witness accounts of the incident, the man was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. The wife was provided with a card with domestic violence information and she was informed how she could apply for a temporary protection order if she needed one, the report states. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
— A 21-year-old Carson City man, Zeazkyra Mahevada Herrera-Cruz, was arrested Tuesday for a felony failure to appear in court warrant issued by Carson City Drug Court. Herrera-Cruz was already in custody regarding unrelated criminal matters. No bail hold in lieu of hearing.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor petit larceny.
According to the booking report, the man allegedly took numerous items of merchandise from Walmart, stuffed them in a backpack and was caught leaving the store without paying for the items, valued at $284.95. After the man was detained, he produced more items out of his pockets, valued at $36.95. Bail: $1,252.
— A 46-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were called to a Dori Way residence in reference to a domestic battery report.
A deputy spoke with the victim who said he received a text from his wife stating that his mother was in the residence and wanted to sign the title of the residence over to him. The mother was upset that someone else other than her son was living in the residence.
When the man arrived at the residence to talk with his mother about the issue, she and him got into a verbal altercation about the title of the residence. The wife of the man stated she attempted to interject into the conversation. She stated the suspect said: "Hey little girl. If I have to talk s**t to you, I will."
Deputies learned the son then got into his mother's face and demanded that she not talk down to his wife. The man said his mother hit him twice with her right hand on the left side of his face. The suspect was interviewed and initially said her son head butted her, however, there was no bruising on her indicating she was hit, the report states.
The suspect then retracted her statement and said he did not head butt her at all. She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
