Fight at Mills Park sends man to Carson City Jail after victim used pepper spray on him
Carson City sheriff's deputies arrested a 56-year-old transient at Mills Park on Thursday afternoon following a fight in which the man was pepper sprayed by one of the victims.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the park for a report of a battery. On arrival officers spoke with the 56-year-old man, described as grossly intoxicated, who stated that he was showing some kids Tae Kwon Do moves when he was pepper sprayed by an unknown male.
Officers spoke with the man who used pepper spray and stated that he was in the park and saw the 56-year-old man holding down and punching a younger man and that several people were trying to break up a fight.
The victim attempted to help break up the fight when he was thrown to the ground and told to shut up by the 56-year-old man, the arrest report states. The suspect then pushed the victim's girlfriend, in which the victim then deployed pepper spray on the 56-year-old man and called the sheriff's office, the arrest report states. Bail: $1,137.

A 38-year-old Minden man faces misdemeanor charges including a second DUI, after being stopped by Carson City sheriff's deputies early Friday morning.
According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a gold Cadillac failing to maintain the lane of travel and crossing the white line in the area South Carson Street.
Officers made contact with the driver at Fairview and South Carson streets and asked him to step out of the vehicle, in which the man complied but stumbled as he exited, the arrest report states.
The man had red watery eyes, slow, slurred speech and used the rear of the vehicle to lean on while officers spoke with him, the report states.
The man, who admitted to drinking, agreed to submit to a portable breath test, with results above a .08, the arrest report states. He was arrested at 1:53 a.m. and taken to jail. A background check showed the man to have a conviction for DUI in January 2008. Bail: $2,714.
— A 39-year-old transient was booked into Carson City Jail on Sept. 5, 4:15 p.m. on a failure to appear warrant.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
