Carson City man booked for alleged assault, battery after reckless driving leads to altercation
A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for two counts suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and one count felony battery, according to a sheriff's office booking report.
Michale Edward Odell was taken into custody at 7 p.m. in the area of Jewell and Cardinal streets.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area regarding an altercation and learned there was a dispute was over a driver allegedly speeding and driving recklessly down the street.
The driver, Odell, was confronted by a female who allegedly sprayed water on him. Odell then allegedly drove up to the woman, entering the driveway of the residence, where the woman said she was nearly hit by Odell's vehicle.
The female said Odell hit her with a serpentine belt. She had a large bruise on her arm, the arrest report states. Odell said the woman struck him with a hose during the altercation, leaving a red mark. The red mark where Odell said he was hit with the hose was not consistent with someone being hit by a hose, the report states.
The woman's husband then came outside, where Odell allegedly attempted to fight him and then allegedly attempted to hit both with his vehicle, according to the report.
The male victim showed officers a laceration on his hand in which he stated Odell was driving away and his hand was struck by the rear bumper of the vehicle. Witnesses spoke with deputies as part of the investigation.
A woman who was with Odell told deputies that the two were driving down the street and that the woman came out and started spraying the vehicle with water.
She told officers the woman got in front of the vehicle stopping then, and that the woman's husband came outside of the house. She said the woman began to spray Odell with the hose again and stated Odell grabbed the belt and smacked the woman in the left side of the back, the arrest report states.
Odell was taken into custody for two counts alleged assault with a deadly weapon and battery, all felonies. Bail amount listed: $41,137.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing and affray.
According to the arrest report a sergeant observed two males subjects physically punch each other on Plaza Street. The officer approached the two and told them to stop fighting, and observed several others telling the men to stop fighting.
One of the two stopped fighting, looked at the sergeant and began walking away. The officer ordered several times for the man to stop. The suspect then took off running. The sergeant said he began running after the suspect, continuing to order him to stop. The suspect continued to run and didn't comply.
A deputy was able to locate the subject running and he was detained in the area of East Telegraph east of Stewart Street. He was taken into custody for misdemeanor suspicion of affray and obstructing, failing to obey and an officer. Bail amount listed: $1,549.
— A 42-year-old Reno man, Daniel Edward Weaver, and a 30-year-old Reno woman, Holly Amanda Kirkland, were arrested Saturday in the 2100 block of East William Street for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and misdemeanor suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637 each.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday in the area of Carson and Musser streets for suspicion of indecent/obscene exposure, a gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor drunken pedestrian.
According to the arrest report, the man had been asked to leave a bar earlier due to his level of intoxication and was given a ride by a friend. Later, an officer was driving on South Carson Street and saw the man wave the officer down and shouted as the officer drove by.
The officer turned around to make contact with the man, who then ran out into the street, dropped his pants, exposing his bare buttocks and smacking them with his hands. He was placed into handcuffs and removed from the street.
He provided a preliminary breath test of .360 and was transported to the hospital due to the high level of alcohol in his system. He was medically cleared and taken to jail. Total bail amount listed: $2,709.
