Specialist to discuss NV Energy's natural disaster plan at Carson City Rotary meeting
The safety of NV Energy customers and the environment is the topic at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting, happening Tuesday, August 30 in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
NV Energy Senior Emergency Management Specialist Tim Hill will update local Rotarians on the company’s natural disaster protection plan at the meeting. The public is invited to attend.
Hill will outline plans to help protect the public from the impacts of natural disasters on the electric infrastructure and will highlight ways NV Energy is working to make the system safer and reduce the risk of wildfires.
He will also provide information on how businesses and residential customers can prepare for a power outage, especially during the hot summer and fall months when planned Public Safety Outage Management (PSOM) events may be a possibility for high-risk fire areas.
