July gaming revenue soars in Carson City, Carson Valley and Tahoe 13 months after casinos reopen
Gaming establishments in Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville and all other areas of Douglas County except for South Shore Lake Tahoe, reported total gaming revenue, also known as "gaming win" of $12,268,529 for the month, compared to $9,665,276 in July 2020.
Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,359,876,493 for the month of July 2021. This amounts to a 79.69 percent increase compared to July 2020, when licensees reported a gaming win of $756,772,679.
The large increase statewide is due to casinos that opened back up June 4, 2020 to limited capacity following the statewide COVID-19 shutdown.
Meanwhile, at Lake Tahoe's south shore, gaming revenue for the month saw 52.80 increase over July 2020. Casinos pulled in a total gaming win of $32,248,571 for the month compared to $21,104,759 in July 2020.
At Tahoe's north shore, casinos saw a 38.91 percent increase in gaming win compared to July 2020. Elsewhere, casinos in Reno and Sparks also reported strong gaming-based earnings.
