Carson City man arrested for punching woman in the face while she was holding a two-month-old baby

A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested after allegedly punching a woman in the face while she held their infant baby.

According to the report, the man was arrested early Friday morning after deputies were dispatched on report of an assault, and that the reporting party had left the residence with her two children.

Deputies spoke with the woman, who stated she and the man had some friends over and the man had been drinking. She stated after their friends left she and the man began arguing about the man's drinking.

She stated she tried locking herself and her children in a bedroom, but the man was able to unlock the door. She said the man punched her in the head while she was in the bedroom, and deputies noted she had a swollen lip, a swollen left eyebrow and a swollen mark on her forehead.

She later told deputies she did not know whether or not her two month old child had been hit, as she had been holding the baby to her chest when she was punched. Deputies checked the baby and did not see any signs of injuries.

Deputies spoke to the man, who was stumbling and had slurred speech and deputies noted they could tell he was highly intoxicated. Deputies asked what happened, and the man stated he and the woman had gotten into a verbal argument and then she left.

Deputies asked him how she sustained her injuries and he said he didn’t know. He denied punching her and stated the argument never got physical.

Deputies took the man into custody for domestic battery and child endangerment.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for felony home invasion and assault after allegedly breaking down the door of his on again off again girlfriend’s apartment.

According to the report, Antonio Conchas-Conchas was arrested after deputies responded to a residence on Long Street in reference to a residential burglary.

Deputies made contact with the woman who stated she came home from work and took a nap. She later woke up to the sound of her bedroom door opening, and realized it was her “on again off again” boyfriend, Conchas.

She stated she was afraid for her safety because Conchas had struck her in the past, and she grabbed her phone, which Conchas took away from her.

She told deputies she managed to get her phone back and called law enforcement and ran toward her living room. While in the living room, she realized Conchas had broken through the front door of her residence.

Law enforcement arrived and escorted Conchas outside of the residence. They asked the woman if he had struck her in any way, and she said that he had not, and that he had not taken anything from the residence.

Deputies spoke with Conchas who stated he had been in a relationship with the woman for several years, and that earlier in the day she had contacted him. He said when he tried to get ahold of her, she did not answer, and when he could not make contact with her, he went to her house looking for her.

Deputies asked if he damaged the door to her apartment, and he admitted to striking the door with his right shoulder. He stated he “just wanted to see her.”

Deputies noted on the report that the entire door frame was split and a piece of wood was hanging off of the frame.

Deputies arrested Conchas for home invasion and assault and booked him at the Carson City Jail without incident.

Bail: $25,637
