Deputies arrest hallucinating woman for disorderly conduct after several wellness calls
Thursday afternoon, several calls came into dispatch from concerned citizens after they witnessed a woman who appeared to be hallucinating.
When deputies located the woman, she did not speak to deputies and walked in the opposite direction. When deputies located her again, she was laying between a sidewall and a parking lot.
Deputies asked dispatch if any report of a crime had been committed, and dispatch said no, callers had just been concerned for her health.
When deputies spoke to her, she slapped her chest, which deputies “perceived as a fighting stance,” according to the report.
Two deputies attempted to subdue her which was difficult when the subject “exhibited extreme strength.”
Deputies eventually placed her in handcuffs. A witness agreed to sign a citizen’s arrest form for disorderly conduct, and deputies added resisting arrest as well.
Deputies transported the woman to the hospital for medical clearance to check if she was under a controlled substance and/or alcohol.
She was cleared and transported to the jail without further incident.
