Carson City weekend arrests: Two jailed in bar fight that caused serious eye injury
Two were arrested early Saturday for suspicion of felony battery causing substantial bodily harm, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Arrested were Melvin Dunlap, 29, of Carson City and Vincent Paredes, 29, of Anaheim, Calif. The men were involved in a fight at a downtown Carson City bar in the 100 block of Telegraph Street.
According to witnesses and footage from video at the bar, it was determined through the investigation that the two men provoked and started the altercation involving another man, injuring causing substantial damage and injury to his left eye. Bail: $15,000 each.
In other arrests:
— A Carson City man was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony child abuse/neglect. Taken into custody following an investigation was Christopher Mason, 38. Bail: $40,000. A female also involved was booked for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment, misdemeanor DUI and misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail: $6,774. Details of the arrest were not available.
— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI and minor consuming. Bail: $1,379.
— A 64-year-old Sun Valley man was arrested Sunday of suspicion of misdemeanor stalking and misdemeanor violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing violation. Bail: $3,352.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.
— A 67-year-old man, William Clifford Ballard, was arrested early Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.
