The Rotary Club of Carson City to hold luncheon to discuss Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada's 30th annual luau
The Rotary Club of Carson City will hold a lunceon meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 15 in the Brewery Arts Center's Grand Ballroom to discuss plans for the 30th anniversary of the Annual Luau to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada.
BGCWN CEO Brett Zunino will be the guest speaker at the luncheon meeting and the public is invited to attend.
The organizers hope to set attendance and fundraising records. To find out what’s in store, the community can attend the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting.
"This year we are pulling out all the stops for our 30th anniversary Luau," said Zunino. "We hope to have 800 people! It will be a wildly immersive event in which we celebrate the progress we've made over the years and announce our exciting future plans."
Along with Luau plans, Zunino will also discuss how the Club plans to address difficult issues facing our community.
"Recent studies show that childcare is our number one community need," Zunino says, adding. "In fact, one study suggests the lack of childcare is one of the root causes of our dilapidated workforce, high prices, and inflation."
Zunino’s presentation will discuss ways the public can help the BGCWN address the
needs of children and teens in our area. He will also unveil BGCWN’s plans to expand both facilities and programs to meet the needs of our growing community.
