Carson City arrests: Man jailed for DUI after hitting building, sideswiping vehicle
Two Carson City men were arrested Wednesday in connection to hit and run crashes into a building and a vehicle, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
A 29-year-old faces a misdemeanor charge of hit and run causing property damage and DUI. A 25-year-old was arrested for misdemeanor violation of pre-trial supervision through the Department of Alternative Sentencing.
According to the arrest report two men in a vehicle struck the building of a North Carson Street restaurant and bar. It then later sideswiped a vehicle at College Parkway and Research Drive. No injuries were reported.
The 29-year-old admitted to the hit and run incidents while under Miranda warning, according to the arrest report. He provided a preliminary breath sample of .270 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI and hit and run. At jail he chose a blood draw. Bail: $1,759. The 25-year-old was arrested for pre-trial supervision after admitting he had smoked marijuana, a violation of conditions. Bail: $3,000.
In other arrests:
— A 28-year-old Carson City woman, Melinda Leigh Tucker, was arrested Thursday, 9:18 p.m. in the 400 block of North Carson Street for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, meth, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.
— A 35-year-old Carson City woman, Amber Elyse Woods, was arrested Thursday, 4:02 p.m. in the 3200 block of Sherman Lane for felony suspicion of possession of meth and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $2,812.
— A 59-year-old inmate at Carson City Jail, Thomas Thornton, faces a felony charge of damage to jail property after allegedly tampering with the jail’s fire sprinkler system. Bail: $2,500.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 7:12 p.m. in the 2900 block of Menlo Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, the man reportedly smashed windows in an apartment. Bail: $242.
— A 36-year-old Gardnerville woman was booked into jail Thursday, 3 a.m. for a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 77-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 9:53 a.m. in the 700 block of West Caroline Street for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued Aug. 1, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Wednesday, 9:43 a.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 49-year-old transient was booked into jail Wednesday, 3 a.m. for a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $1,000.
