Carson City Fire Department called to brush fire near C Hill
UPDATE FRIDAY: A total of 20 acres burned and fireworks are the cause, said Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon.

UPDATE 6 p.m.: Crews are now mopping up the Greenhouse Fire, said CCFD Chief Sean Slamon.

UPDATE 5:34PM: The fire is around 4 to 5 acres and is being doused by a helicopter and fire crews on scene. Forward progress of the fire has been stopped and the area was receiving rain. Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon noted firefighters are experience erratic wind behavior but that they also have the upper hand, with about 70 percent containment.
Crews on the Greenhouse Fire include Carson City, East Fork Fire Protection, Tahoe Douglas Fire, Truckee Meadows, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Forest Service. Aircraft flew in from Sierra Front Interagency in Minden.

UPDATE 4:44PM: Motorists and people are urged to stay clear of the area to allow firefighters through.

UPDATE 4:31PM: The fire is near the area of last year's Shooting Fire, which burned more than 250 acres on August 15 near the Carson Colony Washoe Indian reservation off of South Curry Street.

UPDATE: 425PM: A structure protection team from East Fork Fire Department in Douglas County are on the scene to help protect structure within the path of the fire. An air attack with helicopters, and an aircraft has been ordered, multiple fire trucks are responding.
The fire is burning close to the fire that happened last summer. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

UPDATE 4:08 PM: Carson City Fire Department is calling for voluntary evacuations of homes in the Carson Colony Washoe Tribal area due to the fire.

UPDATE 4PM: Carson City Fire Chief Sean Slamon reports the fire is three acres in size, no evacuations yet and no containment.

Carson City Fire Department was called Thursday afternoon to a brush fire in the C Hill area. Arriving firefighters report heavy smoke in the area, and have called for additional engines and air support.
