Mound House man arrested for felony drug possession after driving with no license plates
A 24-year-old Mound House man was arrested in the area of N. Carson St. and E. William St. for felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, Noel Colon-Cabral was arrested after deputies were patrolling the area of E. William and N. Roop St. Monday night and noted a vehicle driving with no license plates.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Colon-Cabral.
Colon-Cabral told deputies he had a Nevada’s driver’s license but recently lost it. however, dispatch advised that Colon-Cabral had never had a valid driver’s license within Nevada.
K-9 deputy Proton initiated a free air exterior sniff of the vehicle, and gave a positive result near the driver’s side door. He also gave a positive alert near the front passenger window.
Deputies searched the vehicle and located a piece of a plastic grocery bag that had been ripped and tied off which contained approximately 1.5 grams of presumed methamphetamine.
Deputies also located a bong-style pipe with white coating and burn marks consistent with methamphetamine use, according to the report.
A search of Colon-Cabral’s person also revealed another piece of plastic bag inside of a dollar bill that contained approximately 0.5 grams of presumed cocaine.
Colon-Cabral was taken into custody without incident.
