Carson City arrests: Man jailed for two counts suspicion of sexual assault of child
UPDATE FRIDAY: The Carson City District Attorney’s Office, in its criminal complaint, argues the victim was repeatedly sexually abused from the ages of 10 to 12, when the suspect was between the ages 16 to 18 years of age.
The District Attorney’s Office cites Nevada Revised Statutes 171.083 and NRS 171.085 in its prosecution of the case, which can be found here.

A 23-year-old man was booked into jail Wednesday on two felony counts suspicion of sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Daniel Joseph Heth of Stagecoach was arrested Wednesday in Lyon County and transported to Carson City Jail for the warrant issued July 25 following an investigation.
Heth is being held on $100,000 bail for each count.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 11:15 a.m. in the area of Second and Division streets for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the ambulance bay at behavior health in the 700 block of Fleischmann regarding a vehicle that had run through an area under construction. The vehicle was stuck in a hole that had been dug with a jackhammer by construction crews.
A deputy was able to trace the license plate number back to a residence on Division. The deputy went to the residence and observed a man come out of the residence and begin to walk on West 2nd Street. The deputy made contact with the driver and asked him what happened to the vehicle.
The man voluntary stated that while bringing his four dogs from the park near the old hospital he ran into construction equipment while trying to drive between the cones, the arrest report states.
The deputy asked why he didn’t call dispatch. The man told the deputy it was too hot for his dogs and so he decided to walk home and then go back to deal with the disabled vehicle on scene, the arrest report states.
During the conversation the deputy observed the man had slurred speech and red, glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol on his breath and person.
The deputy asked the man if he had been drinking alcohol. The man replied he had a tall one when he got home, the arrest report states.
Another deputy remained on scene to collect statements from witnesses who had advised the man drove through the cones at the construction site, drove over a jack hammer and pushed the compressor into the wall causing damage to the wall.
The man was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor hit and run causing property damage. Once at detention, deputies conducted field sobriety tests in the jail pre-booking area. The man showed signs of intoxication and blew a .211 on a preliminary breath test. For evidentiary tests, the man chose a blood draw. Bail: $1,774.
A 41-year-old Reno man was arrested Wednesday, 7:13 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Reno Justice Court. The warrant was for driving on expired registration, driving without a valid license and no proof of insurance. Bail: $1,194.
