Cafe at Adele's welcomes dogs and their owners to annual Carson Tahoe SPCA fundraiser
Dog owners enjoyed sharing a meal with their wet-nosed fuzzy friends at Paws on the Veranda Sunday morning at Cafe at Adele's in Carson City. This annual fundraiser is a Sunday breakfast and lunch event at Adele's where dog owners and their dogs can enjoy each others company to benefit the Carson Tahoe SPCA.
"This event is to say thank you to the SPCA for all the work they do for animals that are lost, forgotten and abused. To do the work they do it takes money and funds, that is why I am here," said Charlie Abowd the host of Paws on the Veranda. Charlie and Karen Abowd hold this event close to their hearts and always try to help out wherever they can, leaving footprints of fundraising efforts around Carson City.
Paws on the Veranda helps raise money for the Carson Tahoe SPCA spay and neuter fund for the homeless animals that come into their care. Guests who participate in the meal with their dogs have 25 percent of their check donated to the SPCA and enjoy a treat box, a toy and other homemade healthy treats.
Carson Tahoe SPCA is a nonprofit organization that takes in dozens of homeless cats, kittens, dogs and puppies. They place these animals in foster homes each year to be nurtured and prepared to move into loving adoption homes.
The event at Cafe' At Adele's will run today, Sunday, until 3 p.m. and all well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome.
