Carson City arrests: Man jailed for suspicion of third DUI
A 48-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in the area of Clear Creek Road for felony suspicion of a third DUI offense, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Michael Brick Maravilla of Smelterville, Idaho was booked at 7:09 p.m. with a $20,000 bail amount. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after observing the driver turn eastbound onto Clear Creek Avenue into the westbound turn lane.
The deputy made contact with the man who had red, watery and bloodshot eyes, and slow slurred speech, the arrest report states. The man submitted to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test with a .155 result, the report states. He was arrested and consented to a voluntary blood draw. The arrest report did not provide details for two prior DUI convictions.

— A 61-year-old Visalia, Calif., man was arrested Wednesday, 12:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Saliman for gross misdemeanor failing to register as a convicted sex offender. According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to the area for a report of a transient in front of the high school. The man had been contacted several days prior. He admitted that he had been in Carson City for 29 days and would not provide a legitimate answer as to why he had not registered with Carson City as a registered offender. Bail: $2,500.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 9:24 p.m. in the 500 block of East William Street for a misdemeanor warrant issued in February 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $801.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday, 1 p.m. for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued in March 2008 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $874.
