Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly driving truck at pair, hitting parked vehicle
A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested for suspicion of multiple felony and misdemeanor crimes, including two counts assault with a deadly weapon and destruction of property following an incident Monday, a sheriff's report states.
Gerson Meza-Aguilar was taken into custody at 6:35 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street. He was also arrested for suspicion of battery, domestic battery and hit and run.
According to the arrest report, the suspect allegedly threw rocks at two people, then drove his truck in the direction of the two people, who then went behind another vehicle, where the suspect is seen in video surveillance crashing into the left rear side of a parked vehicle. He then put his truck in reverse and left the area, the report states. He was later arrested in the parking lot of Walmart.
He was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak and stated he did drive to the Woodside Drive address to confront one of the two people, who he said had been provoking him, attempted to sell his son drugs and who he suspects keyed his vehicle earlier, the report states.
He stated he did throw rocks at the two people and that he did drive his vehicle toward their direction and did it out of anger. He stated his intent was not to run them over, according to the report. Total bail amount listed: $49,911.
In other arrests:
— A 37-year-old inmate at Carson City Jail faces felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly attempting to dissuade a victim from testifying in court. Geoffrey Lyle Walker also faces misdemeanor charges of two counts violation of bail conditions.
According to the arrest report, on Sunday at approximately 7 p.m. jail deputies were alerted the man had made multiple phone calls to a victim.
A print out was made of the phone calls from July 7 to July 12 and there were 10 made to the victim's number, most using another inmate's phone pin number. On July 15, two phone calls were made to the victim.
Court papers show the man was given a condition to not make contact with the victim listed in his pending case. He was arrested for suspicion of felony dissuading a victim and two misdemeanor counts of violation of bail conditions. Bail amount listed: $11,000.
— A 30-year-old man turned himself into the Carson City Sheriff's Office for two outstanding warrants. Domestic battery and failure to appear. Bail: $5,740.
— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday in the 1100 block of Liberty Court for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $1,150.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday for a failure to appear traffic warrant issued July 10, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $215.
