Carson City arrests: Driver booked for suspected third DUI
A 53-year-old woman was arrested July 14 in the area of East William and Gold Dust Way for suspicion of felony third DUI and two misdemeanor offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Booked at 4:45 a.m. was Elsie Elaine Wiegand-Gilstrap of Carson City. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to use a turn signal. During the investigation, the driver agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests.
She provided a partial preliminary breath test of .140 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI and failure to use turn signals. She consented to evidentiary breath test with results of .118 and .120, according to the booking report. Bail: $20,000.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 13 for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery. Cody Michael John Boling was arrested at 4:09 p.m. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a Woodside Drive residence in reference to a domestic battery involving a firearm.
The victim told officers that her boyfriend pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot her and that she was in fear for her life. When the woman attempted to gather her property, she said her boyfriend grabbed her by the neck and pushed her to the ground. A deputy could see a red mark on the woman's neck consistent with a hand grabbing her, the arrest report states.
Officers interviewed the suspect, who said he was upset over text messages he discovered on the woman's phone. He admitted to grabbing a handgun out of his dresser and pointing it at the woman, telling her not to touch any of his property and to get out of the residence. He told the deputy that he thinks the holster was still on the firearm while he pointed it at the woman, the report states.
The suspect gave the officer written and verbal consent to go into the residence and retrieve the firearm, which was located, unloaded, in the top drawer of his dresser. There was a loaded magazine in close proximity to the firearm, the report states. Bail: $20,000.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment, misdemeanor DUI and other offenses.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was getting fuel at a Saliman Road gas station and observed a vehicle with a female driver and juvenile in the front seat. A person who was sitting in front of the store advised he was concerned due to the driver of the van hitting the curb twice and barely being able to walk.
The deputy followed the vehicle, which did not have an operating license plate light. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. She stated she didn't have her license in possession. The officer observed the woman had slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol, the report states.
She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath test of .198 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI, gross misdemeanor child endangerment, a rear license plate lamp violation and not having her driver's license in possession. Bail: $2,500.
