Two-acre fire sweeps through 5 Silver Springs properties, 3 treated for smoke inhalation
UPDATE TUESDAY: Central Lyon County Fire responded Monday night to a structure fire at the Five Star Mobile Home Park in the 1300 block of 5th Street in Silver Springs. According to witnesses, the fire burned at least one mobile home. No injuries have been reported. The fire was knocked down at around 9:30 p.m. We will update as more information becomes available.

Central Lyon Fire Protection District responded Sunday to an interface fire in Silver Springs where the fire spread to approximately 2 acres over 5 properties. The fire consumed two outbuildings, 1 structure and multiple vehicles.
Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation. Central Lyon Fire was assisted by Carson City Fire Department, Storey County Fire and North Lyon Fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Units also responded to a fire on Caroline Way in Stagecoach early Monday afternoon. The fire was contained to a quarter acre and has been cleared.
Earlier Monday morning, Central Lyon Fire units responded to a fire on Roughing It Road in Mark Twain. The fire was caused by a power line hitting a tree and was contained to the back yard of the residence. No one was injured.
