Carson City sheriff’s log: Pair booked on felony drug charges

A 31-year-old woman was arrested Sunday in the area of Hot Springs Road on drug and burglary charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. A 34-year-old man with her was also arrested on a felony drug charge after methamphetamine was discovered in the vehicle he was driving.

Jailed were Tina Dannenbrink and Michael Robinson, both of Reno. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that was showing that its registration had been suspended.

Officers spoke with Robinson, the driver. The passenger identified herself as Dannebrink. The man state the vehicle belonged to his brother and had no current proof of insurance.
The officer issued Robinson a citation for the traffic violation and the vehicle was towed. During an inventory search of the vehicle the deputy found a small clear plastic ziplock bag with green alien print with methamphetamine. A small amount of methamphetamine was dumped inside the vehicle to hide it. Both were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Inside the vehicle were two items that still had store security wires on them. Two other items were found. Inside the center console were a pair of wire cutters. Dispatch contacted Walmart and gave store security a clothing description of both subjects. Store security found surveillance footage of the pair shopping and hiding items inside the woman’s purse, the arrest report states.

Among the items were a wireless speaker and a camera access piece. The man was read his Miranda rights and stated he wanted to talk. He stated the woman stole the items from Walmart and that he was unaware she had taken them. Dannenbrink was also booked on a felony burglary charge. Her bail: $5,000. Robinson’s bail: $2,500.

In other arrests:
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 9:38 p.m. in the area of Northgate Lane and Jumbo Court on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery second offense, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies spoke with the victim who said she and her boyfriend had been drinking and began to argue in front of their residence in the 200 block of East Hampton. The victim said her boyfriend had grabbed her throat during the argument. The man had left when police arrived.
Officers located the man, who was wearing dirty brown shorts covered in pieces of sagebrush. He had minor scrapes on his knees and shoulder that he said he got from walking toward his home. An officer asked if he had been hiding in the bushes when deputies began following him as he was driving a van. The man stated he was dirty from walking home. He provided a preliminary breath test of .140.
The man denied touching the victim and said she had grabbed his shirt in the argument. Officers observed no signs of battery to the man. A records check showed he had a previous conviction of domestic battery in California, Dec. 22, 2008. Bail: $5,000.

— A 63-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 1:05 p.m. in the 200 block of Winnie on a misdemeanor charge, contempt of court, issued June 1, 2015 out of First District Judicial Court in Carson City. Bail: $2,100.

— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 8:58 p.m. in the 4000 block of Mina Way on a misdemeanor warrant issues out of Washoe County Judicial Court. Bail: $500.
