Carson City firefighters knock down 3-acre brush fire in Anderson ranch area
UPDATE 2:53PM FROM CARSON CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT: At approximately 12:41 p.m. crews were dispatched to a brush fire in the area of Longview Way, Manhattan Dr., and Spencer St. About 25 firefighters arrived on scene. Upon arrival, firefighters observed large amounts of smoke near residential structures and quickly gained access to the brush fire adjacent to the structures. See the video here.
The fire was declared under control at approximately 1:10 p.m. Crews will remain on scene until released. Mutual aid was provided from Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection and East Fork Fire to cover additional emergency calls. There is no reported damage to neighboring structures and no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The fire burned approximately 3 acres.

UPDATE 2:48PM: The fire in the Anderson Ranch area off of Pardini and Manhattan Drive near Ormsby Boulevard is under control and burned around 3 acres, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE: As of 1:30 p.m. Truckee Meadows Fire returned to Washoe County. No visible smoke or fire could be located near Prison Hill.
UPDATE: As of 1:15 p.m. Truckee Meadows Fire offered units to assist after smoke was reported coming from the area of Prison Hill. Lyon County Fire was reported to be battling a fire in El Dorado Canyon.
UPDATE: As of 1:11 p.m., it's being reported that a significant portion of the fire has been contained.
UPDATE: Just after 1 p.m. houses were being evacuated. A firefighter reported evacuating two children who were home alone near Spencer Street, who were relocated with firefighters.

Just after 12:40 p.m. Thursday afternoon, firefighters were called to a brush fire on the corner of Pardini Street and Manhattan Drive near North Ormsby Boulevard.
Multiple callers reported the fire, and one reporting party stated it appeared to be 100 by 50 feet.
As of 12:45 p.m. firefighters reported the fire was active and working its way into heavier fuel, which would be brush or dry grasses.
