Douglas authorities seek help in locating missing 76-year-old Indian Hills woman
A 76-year-old Indian Hills woman, who reportedly suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, is missing and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in finding her.
The woman, Ada Cordero, was reported missing by her daughter this Sunday afternoon and was last seen at 7:30 a.m. by her daughter, according to a press statement.
Ms. Cordero’s daughter, Sabina Bustamante, said she last saw her mother at home in the Indian Hills area. She said her mother is an avid walker and has been known to take very long walks, according to the press statement.
The daughter also reported that her mother recently walked out into the hills behind James Lee Park and was located by a sheriff's deputy. And two weeks ago, her mother disappeared a second time and was later located at the Fandango Casino in Carson City, according to the press statement.
A subsequent check of the area and neighborhood by members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was conducted, however that check was unsuccessful in locating Cordero, according to the press statement.
Cordero is described as a Hispanic female who mostly speaks Spanish, 5 feet, four inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, thin size build, with black hair and brown eyes.
Cordero was reported to have been wearing maroon colored pants, red shirt, black jacket and white shoes at the time of her disappearance. Sabina said her mother suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, according to the press statement.
Anyone who may have seen Ms. Cordero, or has information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division at (775) 782-9905 or (775) 782-9080.
