Single lane closures planned Tuesday on U.S. 50 near Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe
U.S. 50 traffic at Cave Rock, Lake Tahoe will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 as lighting repairs are made to the inside of the Cave Rock tunnel.
Westbound lanes will be rerouted to travel one lane in each direction through the eastbound Cave Rock tunnel, with reduced speed limits and some limited travel delays to be expected.
While bicyclists and oversize and over-dimensional semi-trucks will be allowed through the work zone, alternate bicycle and truck routes are advised if possible.
Repairs will be made to tunnel lighting damaged in prior traffic crashes. Motorists are advised of the potential of similar lane reductions taking place on Wednesday, June 26 if needed to complete lighting repairs.
