Carson City arrests: Man jailed for possession of credit card belonging to city employee
A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of felony possession of a credit card without consent and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
Calvin Dupont was taken into custody at 4:04 a.m. in the 1500 block of East Fifth Street. According to the booking report, a deputy found the man asleep on a sidewalk. The deputy explained to the man that he couldn't sleep on the sidewalk.
The man provided the deputy his identification, a Nevada driver's license. The officer asked the man if he could be searched. The man agreed and the deputy located a City of Carson City corporate credit card belonging to a city employee. Dupont was arrested for possessing a credit card belonging to someone else. Bail: $5,000.
In other arrests:
— A 50-year-old Carson City man was booked Saturday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI. According to the arrest report, deputies were called at 1:19 a.m. Saturday for a report of a man who was passed out inside a vehicle that was running, in which the man had his foot on the gas pedal and smoke was coming from under the hood.
Deputies arrived and found smoke coming from under the hood and the man passed out behind the wheel. Deputies attempted to wake the man, who was extremely incoherent, unaware of what was happening and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person.
The man woke up and later conducted field sobriety tests, which showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .256 and was arrested. At jail he voluntarily submitted to blood draws. Bail: $1,137.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 17 for misdemeanor violation of an extended protection order for domestic violence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday in the area of State and Salter streets for a misdemeanor warrant out of Sparks Judicial Court and driving on a suspended license. Bail: $1,637.
— A 54-year-old man, Dennis Lee Whiteford, was arrested early Monday morning for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, and suspicion of misdemeanor speeding, no proof of insurance, expired license plates and driving on a suspended driver's license. Bail: $3,948.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of domestic battery. According to the booking report, the man allegedly punched a male family member in the face and mouth several times. A witness confirmed what they had saw. The suspect refused to speak about it. Based on the injuries of the victim, the man was arrested. Bail: $3,137.
