Sheriff's log: Arrests made for drugs, intimidation of public officer, sex offender registration

A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 3:45 p.m. in the 600 block of West King Street for suspicion of six felony prescription drug charges and two misdemeanor charges of violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

According to the arrest report, Jason David Serda had been recently released on bail. Officers from the Department of Alternative Sentencing called the sheriff’s office to assist them with a search.

The man had a search and seizure clause, and alternative sentencing officers were at his apartment. Officers located several prescription drugs that he did not have prescriptions for. He told deputies he acquired them from his former employer. He said he was assigned by his former employer to “go through” the narcotics and throw some away, however he said he did not do as instructed and kept them in his possession, the arrest report states. The man said he wanted to speak with his attorney. The drugs located were Haloperidol, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, Xylocaine, Lidocaine, and Ondansetron. Bail: $21,000.

The man was told not to square up on the sergeant after being told to calm down. The man continued in a postured, aggressive stance with his fists balled and preparing to engage in a fight, the arrest report states. According to the arrest report, a deputy stopped to talk to a man who was loitering in front of a closed business in the 1100 block off North Carson Street. The man advised he lost his identification and was going to go to the DMV to try and obtain a new identification card.

The deputy ran the man’s name through dispatch and learned he had a sex offender notification. The suspect had been advised to register as a sex offender two days prior and did not register. Bail: $5,000.

Deputies arrived and could see the man was breathing. Carson City Fire Department was called to the scene. When an attempt was made to wake the man up, he immediate sat up on his skateboard. Deputies asked the man if he was OK. He provided a preliminary breath test with a .158. The man declined medical attention. The Department of Alternative Sentencing was advised of the man’s preliminary breath test. They requested the man be placed under arrest for violation of bail conditions in which he had a “no drinking” clause. Bail: $3,000.
