NV Energy proposes slight rate hike increase for Northern Nevada electric customers
The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada will hear a proposal June 20 by NV Energy to raise electric rates for Northern Nevada customers.
This time around, NV Energy proposes to increase rates by an estimated $7.49 million or 0.63 percent across all rate classes that would result in an estimated increase in the average monthly residential bill of 65 cents or 0.56 percent for Northern Nevada customers.
For Southern Nevada electric customers, NV Energy proposes to decrease rates by an estimated $8.27 million or 0.26 percent across all rate classes that would result in an estimated decrease in the average monthly residential bill of 37 cents, or 0.22 percent.
In NV Energy’s deferred energy rate application for its Northern Nevada natural gas operations, NV Energy requests that the PUCN approve its 2022 natural gas expenses.
For gas customers in the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area, NV Energy proposes no changes to rates charged to customers through this application.
Southwest Gas is the provider of natural gas around the Carson City area.
