A 63-year-old woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Deputies responded at 12:42 p.m. to a residence for a domestic battery report. Dispatch advised a male caller reported his girlfriend ripped his shirt and physically scratched him.

Deputies arrived and met with the reporting party who stated that on the morning of June 8, he went golfing and while he was golfing his girlfriend went to the golf course and switched vehicles without his knowledge, the report states.

He stated that once he found his vehicle and realized she had switched them, he went to her residence to grab his key fob and garage door opener and said she would not give them back to him. He stated that when they were arguing about the keys she grabbed him by the shirt, threw him to the ground and scratched him. He stated that once he got off the ground, he left and called 911 to report the incident and went back to his residence.

The deputy observed the man’s shirt had a rip down the center with a scratch on his left peck and another scratch on his left arm above his elbow that appeared relatively new, the report states.

A deputy went to the woman’s address and asked what happened when the man got to her house on June 8. She stated that he came to her residence looking for dog food. She stated she met him at the front door and then when he came in, he started looking for the keys. She stated that he grabbed the keys off the kitchen counter and that they were verbally arguing about them. She stated that he left and went back to his residence, according to the report.

The deputy asked the woman to explain why the man had a ripped shirt and scratches. She stated that they were fighting over the keys and when they fell on the ground, he pinned her on the ground and that is when she ripped his shirt. She stated that his scratches could have been from golfing or something, according to the report.

The deputy did not observe any apparent injuries that showed any signs of force toward the woman on her neck or arms. The officer looked at her neck, arms and legs. She had a red mark on her right kneecap, the report states.

The deputy determined she was the primary aggressor and arrested the woman for suspicion of domestic battery due to the injuries on the man being consistent with the events the deputy was told happened and that there were no signs of injury to the woman. Bail: $3,137.
