Carson City emergency crews, Care Flight called to man injured by gunfire
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Sunday night to a reported accidental self-inflicted gunshot firing at a Meadowbrook Lane residence.
The man was reportedly injured in the arm and side and told dispatchers he was struck by gunfire while moving the weapon, according to dispatch. The call came at around 10:10 p.m.
CareFlight was called to respond and landed at the parking lot of Seeliger Elementary School.
A stretch of Saliman Road was blocked briefly for the helicopter to land.
The condition of the man is unknown at this time and the cause is under investigation. At the time of the call the man was conscious, alert and bleeding from the wound.
