Happening tonight: Carson City School Board to discuss Holiday with a Hero, Snyder property and more
The next Carson City School District School Board meeting will take place tonight, Tuesday, June 8 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Robert ‘Bob’ Crowell Board Room within the Carson City Community Center.
Items up for discussion at the school board include Holiday with a Hero, the Snyder property, and more.
— Daniel and Meliah Gonzales will give a presentation on the Holiday with a Hero program in the Carson City School District. No action will be taken on this item.
— Superintendent Richard Stokes will give an information update and provide discussion on the property located at 1600 Snyder Avenue. No action will be taken on this item. The school district is looking to acquire the property.
— A discussion and possible action will be led by Andrew Feuling to adopt two resolutions, dissolving the Special Revenue Fund; 279, Full Day Year Round Kindergarten Fund and creating a Special Revenue Fund; 279, Student Activity Fund, in accordance with the Governmental Account Standards Board (GASB) 84 and the Nevada Department of Education.
— Superintendent Stokes will provide a 2021 Nevada Legislative Update on items of interest relating to education. No action will be taken on this item.
— School Board Trustee Joe Cacioppo will lead a discussion on the Nevada Association of School Boards (NASB) nominations to be considered for recognition during the 2021 annual conference. No action will be taken on this item.
