Carson City Library launches 'Summer Learning Challenge' this Saturday
What is the summer learning challenge? It is a summer-long event featuring workshops, presentations and activities. The challenge includes age-appropriate assignments for participants as well as raffle prizes for those who complete the challenge.
The season-long event culminates with an end-of-summer party and grand-prize drawings.
Saturday is a special registration for the Summer Learning Challenge, ages 0-5, 6-11, 12-17, 18-plus. Children 9 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver of at least 13 years of age.
Participants can pick up their take-home kit and learn how to earn extra grand prize tickets.
Activities features include:
— Learning about Carson City Library's virtual programs.
— Previewing the completion prizes and grand prizes.
— Pick-up a make and take activity.
This year’s Summer Learning Challenge theme is “Tails & Tales” so look for our animal-themed programming from June 12-July 31.
Registration is required. This program is part of the Carson City Library's 2021 Summer Learning Challenge; Tails & Tales, and participants can earn a Grand Prize Raffle ticket for participating. Sign up here for the Summer Learning Challenge.
The kickoff event is Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m. to noon at the Library Garden, Carson City Library, 900 N. Roop Street.
