Mammography screenings through Mammovan available in Carson City, northern Nevada
Nevada Health Centers’ Mammovan will offer mammography screenings in Carson City and other areas of northern Nevada over the next two weeks.
"To accommodate women who are due for a mammography screening, we are making those available by visiting northern Nevada during the next two weeks," said Carrie Tallman, spokeswoman for Nevada Health Centers.
Early detection is key in the fight against breast cancer, so access to screenings is critically important, said Tallman. This work is continuing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pre-screening for any COVID-19 related symptoms will occur prior to entering the Mammovan. Call 877-581-6266 to make an appointment.
Mammography screenings are primarily for women age 40 and older; however, screenings will be provided to those younger than 40 that have a screening referral from a provider. Here's where the van will be:
— Tuesday and Wednesday, June 9-10, Carson City, 7:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. NVHC Sierra Nevada Health Center, 3225 Research Way.
