Carson City deputies make arrests for stolen property, drug possession and DUI
A 41-year-old man was arrested Sunday morning for suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, gross misdemeanor intimidating a peace officer, and eight lesser offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Jacob Lynn Fearn was taken into custody at 6:43 a.m. He was also booked for suspicion of four counts possession of stolen property, obstructing with false statement, violation of a suspended sentence, driving without a valid license and no proof of insurance. Bail: $10,000.
— A 54-year-old man, Nicholas Layton Munoz, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. According to the arrest report, an investigation that led to the arrest resulted in law enforcement finding 23.9 grams of methamphetamine, a scoop and a small bag in a vehicle. Bail: $20,500.
— A 43-year-old Reno man was arrested early Sunday for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, deputies were advised by an off-duty Douglas County sheriff's deputy who observed a pickup traveling northbound on I-580 failing to maintain a lane and traveling at approximately 100 mph.
As a result the deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, after it exited the freeway onto College Parkway and stopped at a gas station. The DCSO deputy completed a citizens arrest form along with a statement.
CCSO deputies spoke with the driver of the vehicle who identified himself. The officer observed the subject had red, watery eyes and slurred speech. The officer could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and asked the man if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages. The man replied he had a couple glasses of wine and stopped drinking at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
The man agreed of field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary partial breath test with a .203 result. He later provided an evidential blood sample. Bail: $1,137.
— A 36-year-old man was arrested Friday for suspicion of being an ex-felon failing to register. Bail: $242.
— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 4 for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child neglect/endangerment. According to the booking report, at 2:46 p.m. dispatch notified a deputy that someone found a 2-year-old wandering in the streets. The child who was identified by the parents later, was located on Evans Street by a reporting party. During the investigation, deputies located the home where it was believed the child lived and made contact. The man who answered the door said he fell asleep.
He was asked if he was drinking of smoking any marijuana since deputies observed several alcoholic beverages and marijuana around the residence. The man said he smoked marijuana earlier in the day, which might have contributed to him falling asleep. He was arrested for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child neglect/endangerment. Bail $2,500.
— A 22-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor warrant following a foot pursuit by Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies and officers with the Department of Alternative Sentencing.
According to the booking report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies were alerted by an officer with the Department of Alternative Sentencing of a foot pursuit with a subject that had a $10,000 cash only warrant for his arrest. The suspect took off running, going through yards and jumping fences from the areas of North Pratt to East Telegraph.
A deputy located the man jump a fence in the 500 block of North Pratt and ordered him to stop. The suspect complied with the order and was taken into custody. The man was booked for the warrant and for misdemeanor obstructing. Bail: $10,300.
