Vegas Golden Knights owner to expand Sonoma-based wine business to former Gardnerville Bently distillery
The Bently Heritage Estate Distillery shuttered its doors in March 2022, but now, the restored spirits distiller will have a new life after the acquisition by Foley Family Wines.
The Sonoma, Calif. based wine company announced the purchase of the 100-year-old facility, which was once a creamery and flour mill, earlier this week.
Foley Family Wines is family-owned and has been in the wine business since 1996, and this will be their first dive into spirits.
For the founder of Foley Family Wines, Bill Foley, this is not the first Silver State acquisition. Foley has also acquired the Vegas Golden Knits, the Henderson Silver Knights, the Vegas Knight Hawks, the City National Arena, the Lifeguard Arena, the Dollar Loan Center, and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
"I'm very proud of what we've accomplished in Nevada," Foley said in a published press release, "and I'm looking forward to introducing our spirits to the marketplace."
At this time, an opening date for the distillery has not been announced, but will continue to include the tasting room within the flour mill established under Bently Heritage.
